In 2007, Lovells was named "Law firm of the year for the development of young professionals". This award honoured the numerous initiatives and projects we have launched to recruit and retain our lawyers.
JUVE said that its decision was based on Lovells unorthodox approach to career development. Lovells was the first law firm to enlist a career coach for senior associates and counsels. Here is an excerpt from the speech: "Experienced associates are independently encouraged and supported by a psychologist in respect of their career planning if they wish. […] After optimising the counsel status with regard to more responsibility and a higher salary the law firm introduced the senior associate career level. The advantages include more entrepreneurial focus and enhanced promotion of young professionals."
JUVE's speech mentioned: "[...] The proportion of female Lovells associates is far above the market average; the same applies for female lawyers embarking on their career. Lovells employees have the option of working part-time and are offered assistance with childcare. Thus, it is not surprising that in the current azur associate survey female Lovells associates praise Lovells efforts to promote their careers, stating that Lovells enables them to achieve a satisfactory balance between work and family life."
