In 2009, Lovells won the JUVE Award for Tax. The judges said that clients praised the team not only on account of their "individual class" but in particular also for "the good team play".
Lovells won the JUVE Award for IP in 2008 as well. This marks the second time since 2005 that our IPMT (Intellectual Property, Media & Technology) practice area has received an award for its excellence in trademark, patent and competition law. The speech emphasised the high calibre of the team, its successes and the conclusive strategy pursued by the renowned trademark lawyers. It mentions the most spectacular patent ruling of 2008 brought about by the patent team lead by Dr. Andreas von Falck, as well as the prestigious trademark mandate Deutsche Telekom. The praise culminates in the phrase: "Lovells – the law firm for demanding patent cases."
"All of us are delighted about this award", said Dr Andreas von Falck, head of Lovells global Commerce practice stream. "The JUVE award demonstrates that IP can be practised successfully as one of the core areas of a major law firm. Intellectual property is one of the key assets of global companies and we want to continue to help clients protect it by employing innovative litigation strategies".
With its Handbuch directory of business law firms for 2008/2009, JUVE also presented leading law firms with awards in a variety of legal areas and regions. Lovells received awards in the patent law, insurance law and for the Western region of Germany categories.
In 2007, Lovells won the "Dispute Resolution" JUVE award, while 2006 saw the employment practice area lead its field.
