Lovells won the Innovation in Talent Management and Retention award at the The Lawyer HR Awards 2009.
The Lawyer HR Awards are the only awards dedicated to HR and people management in the legal profession. The Innovation in Talent Management & Retention Award was a fiercely contested category where the judges struggled with the quality of entries. One of the judges commented on Lovells' development initiative "Here's a firm saying 'we want you to be different'. It's a big sea change from everything else I saw in the others". The award was won for the firm's new lawyer career model, in particular for the innovative development programmes that have been put in place to support the new model.
The Lawyer HR Awards also awarded Lovells a Highly Commended in the category of Best Corporate Responsibility Initiative for the breadth of our corporate social responsibility programmes and initiatives such as working with the National Centre for Domestic Violence, and securing compensation for the families of 30 London 7/7 bomb victims.
