BEGIN Job Description

When did you join the firm?

I joined Lovells in the Summer of 1999.  I've had various career highlights including working on a particularly challenging project for Swansea City Council which resulted in one of the best stadia in Wales (if not the whole of the UK!) for rugby and football, leading the team that worked on the BBC move of some of its key departments (Sport, Radio 5 Live and Children's TV) to what looks like it will be a state of the art Media City in Manchester and finally the public private joint venture that I put into place for the ex atomic site up in Harwell (where they do things like tests for Polonium 2010!).

What, in your view, is the one best thing about Hogan Lovells?

The best thing about Hogan Lovells is how open minded we are and pragmatic.  So when I suggested that we needed to get on top of our environmental game and make sure that clients could feel comfortable that they were instructing a law firm that was behaving itself environmentally, I talked myself into the job of being chair of our environment committee.

Our other stuff you can pick from either playing football twice a week, implementing the cycle to work scheme or racing against Seb Coe in the U.A.U at Crystal Palace in 1981 just before he broke the 800 metre world record - I lost!
