When did you join the firm?
I joined the firm as a trainee Solicitor in September 2000 and qualified in September 2002 into the Investment Banking and Funds Litigation Department.
What have been your career highlights?
As a trainee I spent six months at the then Lovells Hong Kong office. The experience gave me a real insight into the truly international nature of the firm, and the extent to which our global offices work together to provide solutions for our clients' international businesses.
I also spent 10 months on secondment at the Enforcement Division of the Financial Services Authority, where I prosecuted a number of high profile market abuse and insider dealing cases. On my return to Hogan Lovells, I have acted for firms who are under investigation by the FSA, so my insight into the thinking of the regulator has been invaluable to clients exposed to regulatory sanction.
What, in your view, is the one best thing about Hogan Lovells?
There are lots of things which make Hogan Lovells a fantastic place to work, not least the high quality of the work which we do on a day to day basis. But the single best thing is the people within the firm - there is an atmosphere of teamwork and a culture of inclusiveness. After nine years of working at the firm, I firmly believe that the environment at Hogan Lovells brings out the best in the people that work here, and this can only be a good thing for our clients and the quality of work that is produced.
What is your claim to fame?
My claim to fame is that I have performed to the tune of "Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend" at the Royal Albert Hall with the Lovellies (the Hogan Lovells ladies football team) with Didier Drogba and a bunch of 'WAGs' for a charity event!
